In an attempt to
provide a vessel of quiet beauty, which is soothing to the senses,
I have focused on employing primitive smoke firing techniques
to finely burnished clayware. Uncomplicated forms are meticulously
burnished by hand until they are void of texture and completely
smooth to the touch, reminiscent of polished marble. This surface
provides an unvarying canvas on which the fire can paint its
designs. Truly tactile pieces. |
